Logging in

Click here to create an account for your treatment court. 

A. Each court will only have one account/Court ID. The Primary Contact (User) for each court, will be provided one Court ID and password.

Taking the assessment

A. For the best results, we recommend the court team take the assessment together.

A. No. For courts to better understand the needs of their participants, we encourage court teams to take the assessment together.

A. We suggest team members who attend regular treatment court staffings should be present during the assessment.

A. No. Please log in from only one computer. The RED Program Assessment Tool only allows one log-in per Court ID. The Primary Contact (User) for each court is provided one Court ID and password.

A. Yes. Your team may use your username and password on the same computer or a different computer to log-in at any time.

A. Yes. Teams can stop the assessment at any time, save it, and return to it at a later date.

Timing

A. The assessment takes approximately two hours to complete. Users need to gather program information prior to answering questions on the assessment. Teams should set aside approximately two hours to discuss and enter responses into the web-based form. Based on inputted responses, courts receive recommendations on how to alleviate racial/ethnic disparities in the program accompanied by scores for the multiple sections.

A. It’s hard to say exactly how many questions are on the assessment, because multiple questions are conditional, meaning certain questions may or may not be asked based on your responses to earlier questions.

A. We recommend the court team take the assessment every two years to compare results and measure progress.

Saving answers

A. Teams can save their answers by selecting the Next button.

A. Teams can select the Previous button to change an answer.

A. Yes, until you submit the assessment. Once you submit the assessment, the answers will be locked. 

Assessment Information

A. The assessment has eight sections and there is an algorithm that determines scores based on responses.

A. The assessment was created for treatment courts who serve clients who have underlying issues such as substance use disorders or mental health issues.

Scoring

A. Open-text responses are not scored. This information is collected in order to create future resources to address racial and ethnic disparities.

A. After completing the assessment, your court will receive recommendations to implement to make your court more racially/ethnically inclusive. Courts are encouraged to review the recommendations together and develop a plan for implementing recommendations. You can also email [email protected] if your court would like to request training and technical assistance (TTA). 

A. We recommend the court team take the assessment every two years to compare results and measure progress.

A. We will not share your results with anyone. The only individuals who will have access to your results are the treatment court team members who helped complete the assessment.

Security

A. No individual data will be reported or shared. Data will be aggregated to reflect groups rather than individuals.

A. Only the research team at American University will have access to your court’s data. 

A. Data is stored on a secure server at American University.
